The Symposium on Econometric Theory and Applications (SETA) is a leading international forum that brings together renowned scholars and professionals to present cutting-edge research and discuss emerging developments in econometrics. SETA fosters both theoretical and applied econometric research and promotes the exchange of ideas and collaboration among participants. It also serves as an important platform for junior scholars to engage with leading researchers in the field.
Founded in 2005 by Chung-Ming Kuan, who served as its inaugural organizer until 2019, SETA has grown steadily in scope and impact. In 2019, Yoosoon Chang assumed leadership of the SETA conference series, bringing with her a strong commitment to applied and empirical research. Under her guidance, the SETA network continues to expand, drawing participation from scholars working across various fields of economics.
The SETA conference is held annually and has taken place at universities and major research institutes across Asia and Australasia. Past conferences have been held in Taiwan, mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.
